Wally Aziz, founder of Lazuli Group, is a Francophile Egyptian expert in Egyptology, passionate about his country. The son of a cotton industry entrepreneur, young Wally dreamed of seeing his name on a movie poster as a director. Film school in Cairo revealed his talent for directing, but his destiny lay elsewhere. He shared his passion for history and archaeology with the groups of travelers he guided. Every Egyptian pound he earned went towards building his future, starting with the purchase of his first dahabieh, and now eight. From his base in Cairo, he runs a company dedicated to the tourism industry, with a destination management company, a fleet of dahabiehs, a boat on Lake Nasser, and a lodge on the edge of the desert in the Bahariya Oasis. An aesthete, Wally Aziz pays attention to detail. Everything must contribute to the overall experience. The welcome aboard of the travelers by its staff in an impeccable jalabiya, soft oriental music, a spicy ambient scent, a refreshing lemonade… for an opening sequence for the duration of a cruise.
